Just a short drive away, Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC) – Saginaw provides emergency and critical care services for dogs and cats throughout the Great Lakes Bay Region starting Fridays at 7 PM through Mondays at 8:30 AM.*
*While our facility closes at 8:30 AM on Mondays, the last patient will be seen at 7 AM to allow adequate time for treatment. We kindly ask that you plan your visit accordingly to ensure your pet receives the care they need. Thank you for understanding.
When you arrive, you and your pet will be welcomed inside our hospital by a dedicated emergency team ready to help. We prioritize prompt triage, clear communication, and compassionate support from the moment you walk through our doors. Our team will guide you through the check-in process, answer any questions, and keep you informed every step of the way, so you understand what to expect during your visit.
We are an emergency-only veterinary hospital.That means our entire focus is urgent and critical care—no wellness appointments, no routine services—just experienced emergency veterinary professionals working together to treat serious conditions efficiently and effectively.
Now proudly serving Bay City as our newest hospital, EVCC Saginaw is the sixth EVCC location and the third in Michigan. Since 2003, EVCC has provided independent, emergency-only veterinary care across the Midwest—and we’re bringing that same trusted model to your community. - This is not an appointment. Your pet’s estimated visit time is just that—an estimate. Visit times can change based on caseload and the urgency of other patients' needs.
- To keep things simple and stress-free, we’ll send you text updates to let you know when to come in. If there’s a change in your estimated visit time, we’ll notify you right away.
- If your pet is experiencing a crisis or needs immediate care, please don’t wait. Call us or come in right away!
- When you arrive, we’ll assess your pet’s condition. If their situation is critical, they’ll be seen immediately. If they’re stable, your reserved place in line will be held.

Understanding ER Wait Times
When you arrive, our team will quickly assess your pet’s status. Critically ill or injured pets are seen right away. Stable patients may experience a wait while more urgent cases are treated. *
We understand how hard waiting can be, which is why we’re here to communicate with you every step of the way.

No. We are an emergency-only hospital and focus exclusively on urgent and critical care needs. For routine wellness services, such as vaccinations, dental cleanings, or annual exams, please reach out to your primary care veterinarian.
A pet emergency is any sudden illness or injury that may be life-threatening or requires immediate medical attention. Examples of emergencies include, but are not limited to:
- Trauma, such as being hit by a vehicle or attacked by another animal
- Ingesting toxic foods or substances
- Increased breathing rate or difficulty breathing
- Vomiting or diarrhea in puppies or kittens
- Repeated vomiting or multiple episodes of diarrhea in adult dogs
- Persistent retching
- Blood in urine or difficulty urinating
- Red, swollen, or painful eyes
- Swollen or distended abdomen
