Do I need an appointment for emergency care?

No appointment is necessary. EVCC Mishawaka is open 24/7 and always prepared to accept walk-ins, because emergencies don’t wait for when it’s most convenient.

What is considered a medical emergency?

A medical emergency is any condition that poses an immediate threat to your pet’s health or life. Common cases we see include: 

  • Trauma, such as being hit by a vehicle or attacked by another animal 
  • Ingesting toxic foods or substances 
  • Increased breathing rate or difficulty breathing 
  • Vomiting or diarrhea in puppies or kittens 
  • Repeated vomiting or multiple episodes of diarrhea in adult dogs 
  • Persistent retching 
  • Blood in urine or difficulty urinating 
  • Red, swollen, or painful eyes 
  • Swollen or distended abdomen
